Introduction:

What is Pictorial database?

A Pictorial database is a collection of sharable pictorial data encoded in various formats. During the past several years, pictorial databases have attracted growing attention as an important component in building pictorial information systems as well as intelligent information systems.

The key features of a pictorial database typically include:

·       Image storage: The database provides a secure and efficient storage mechanism for images, ensuring their integrity and accessibility.

·       Indexing and metadata: Each image is associated with relevant metadata such as tags, keywords, descriptions, and other attributes that describe its content and context. This metadata helps in organizing and categorizing images for easy searching and retrieval.

·       Search and retrieval: Pictorial databases offer various search mechanisms to locate images based on specific criteria, including text-based search, visual similarity search, and advanced search filters.
